  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

Easy Chicken Kofta is a flavorful Middle Eastern dish made with spiced ground chicken, shaped into patties or skewers, and grilled or pan-fried to perfection.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 small onion, finely grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, breadcrumbs, grated onion, garlic, cumin, coriander, paprika, cinnamon, cayenne pepper, salt, black pepper, parsley, and lemon juice. Mix well until combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into oval patties or around skewers if grilling.
  3. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Cook the koftas for about 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F).
  4. If grilling, preheat the grill to medium heat and cook for about 4 minutes per side.
  5. Serve hot with tzatziki, hummus, or a side of rice and salad.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, refrigerate the kofta mixture for 30 minutes before cooking.
  • You can bake them at 375°F (190°C) for 20 minutes for a healthier option.
  • Serve with pita bread, tahini sauce, or a cucumber yogurt sauce.
