A delicious homemade Chicken Philly Cheesesteak sandwich with thinly sliced chicken sautéed peppers onions and melted provolone cheese served on a toasted hoagie roll
Ingredients
Boneless chicken thighs or breasts Italian seasoning kosher salt black pepper garlic powder olive oil bell peppers onions provolone cheese hoagie rolls butter Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
1 Place chicken in the freezer for 30 to 40 minutes to firm it up then slice into thin strips
2 Season chicken with Italian seasoning kosher salt black pepper and garlic powder let rest at room temperature
3 Heat olive oil in a large skillet over high heat sear chicken until cooked through about 3 to 4 minutes total
4 Remove chicken set aside sauté peppers and onions in the same skillet until tender about 5 to 6 minutes
5 Add chicken back to the skillet mix with vegetables place provolone slices on top cover until melted
6 Toast hoagie rolls spread with butter layer cheese and chicken mixture inside wrap in foil let rest for 1 to 2 minutes
Notes
For extra flavor add a dash of Worcestershire sauce during cooking Use fresh bakery rolls for an authentic taste Freeze chicken before slicing for clean cuts
