Equipment

  • Baking Sheet
  • Oven
  • Parchment Paper

Ingredients

Crookie Dough

  • 1 ½ cups All-Purpose Flour
  • ¼ cup Cocoa Powder unsweetened
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • ½ cup Unsalted Butter room temperature (226g)
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar 100g
  • ½ cup Brown Sugar moisture-retaining
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 2 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 ½ cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
  • In a separate large bowl, cream butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time and add vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  • Fold in chocolate chips until evenly distributed in the dough.
  • Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and place them 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake for 10 to 12 minutes. The edges should be golden brown, and the centers should remain soft and slightly gooey.
  • Allow the crookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

To ensure the perfect texture, avoid overbaking. Every oven is different, so start checking at 10 minutes to ensure the centers remain soft.
