Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups Granulated Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 1/4 cup Light Corn Syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon Citric Acid
  • 1 teaspoon Natural Strawberry Extract
  • optional Red or Pink Food Coloring
  • for dusting Powdered Sugar

Instructions
 

  • Combine the sugar, water, and corn syrup in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
  • Increase the heat and let the mixture boil. Use a candy thermometer to monitor the temperature, and heat until it reaches 300°F (hard crack stage).
  • Remove the saucepan from the heat and quickly stir in the citric acid, strawberry extract, and food coloring.
  • Carefully pour the hot mixture into small candy molds. Let them cool completely before removing them.
  • Dust the finished bon bons with powdered sugar for an added touch, or wrap them in shiny pink wrappers to complete the look.

Notes

For a twist, experiment with combining strawberry with other flavors like vanilla or chocolate. Vegan-friendly options are available by using plant-based ingredients.
