Equipment

  • Blender
  • Cocktail Shaker

Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh strawberries hulled
  • 1.5 oz tequila Blanco recommended
  • 1 oz lime juice freshly squeezed
  • 0.5 oz orange liqueur Triple sec, Cointreau, or Grand Marnier
  • 0.5 oz simple syrup or agave nectar
  • kosher salt for rimming the glass

Instructions

  • Prepare your glass by running a lime wedge around the rim and dipping it into kosher salt to coat it.
  • In a blender or cocktail shaker, combine fresh strawberries, lime juice, orange liqueur, tequila, and simple syrup.
  • If using a blender, blend until smooth and add ice as needed for the desired consistency. If using a shaker, muddle the strawberries, add ice, and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds.
  • Pour the mixture into your prepared glass and garnish with a strawberry slice or lime wheel.

Notes

For a frozen version, blend the ingredients with ice. For a spicy kick, muddle a few slices of fresh jalapeƱo in the shaker or blender.
